Revisiting a Classic

To celebrate Ford's 15th year as a professional painter, we thought it would be fun to review a Ford Smith "greatest hits" from the era of paintings that ignited his esteemed and inspirational art career.  "Ornamental Autumn" (48"x36") from 2002 was one of these groundbreaking works. It has been inspiring and thrilling to review these earliest paintings, in part because they're still incredibly relevant, gorgeous paintings. With Ford's unexpected, remarkable palettes, flawless compositions and abstracted, characteristic landscapes, the phrase, "Where Landscapes Go to Escape the Ordinary" practically wrote itself. We are re-releasing "Ornamental Autumn" to celebrate the history and talent that was evidenced 15 short years ago.
