It's a rare and wonderful time in the studio when Ford changes the light source in his painting from behind the trees to the front. The last light of day catches the trees and illuminates this buoyant glen, casting meandering, friendly shadows. The vibrant reds vibrate atop the trees with life and goodness, as one seems to watch over the other. There is a palpable softness and well-being here that is rare and wonderful.
